walks in the park

Struck by summer. Dog-sitting this weekend, took long walks in the huge nearby park, Slottskogen. So many happy sun lovers.

And I made some book keeping progress :)

Wish us all inspiration this week!

hnoss heroes

Charlotte Skalegård

Linda Marie Karlsson

Karin Johansson

Mona Wallström

Photos from Hnoss show at Nääs. The nine artists that form the working committee behind gallery Hnoss are themselves jewellery artists. Some newly graduated, some with long experience. There is so much commitment from them and the other artists and jewellery students from HDK, and energy put into the gallery. In return, it seems, they get a lot of energy back, network with other artists and galleries over the world. It's so clever and as a visitor I'm grateful. Here they are, not many of them having websites to see more, sorry:

Charlotte Skalegård, Lena Olson, Carolina Claesson, Karin Andersson, Cecilia Johansson, Mona Wallström, Linda Marie Karlsson, Karin Johansson, Tore Svensson

In the new project room, three graduating students from HDK: Klara Brynge, Karin Andersson
and Serena Holm. Good luck with jewellery life!

No progress with book keeping.
Wish you a lovely, sunny weekend!

escape

I'm doing almost anything but what I ought to, book keeping. The breeze is so soft, the park is so close.

dress and glass

Photo: Anna Eggert

Thank you, Anna Eggert, for sending photos of your work!

When I visited her studio the other week I ran out of camera batteries, felt so stupid. But this is much better, to see her work in the context it should be seen.

borrowed apples

Things happen when someone else arrange things, like when someone placed the glass apples of Gunilla Kihlgren and Rolf Svartström in my bowl, in the shop at Nääs. I almost didn't recognize it, looked like a beautiful painting. Nice surprise.

I'm busy doing my income declaration, didn't make it time, as usual. Have two more weeks, starting fresh with a new book keeping program installed, all papers sorted, mood good.

like a garden party

The new shop

Glass by Lena Nilsson

Cecilia Johansson, Hnoss artist

Cecilia Johansson necklace, detail

Marie Strand Dahl, ceramic artist and today in the cafe

It was such a nice day when Nääs konsthantverk officially reopened in the new building. Like a big garden party, all light and new green, by the lake.

In the gallery "Hnoss intended" opened a show by the jewellery artists and at the same time the working committee behind all the Hnoss exhibitions in the gallery at Konstepidemin. More photos will come.

I wish lots and lots of visitors find their way to Nääs! and not just because my things are in the shop ;) It's a place with true athmosphere and ambition. Not to mention a great little cafe.

Jan Cardell's website is working again! Listen to spectacular rytmobiles. Click Projects to see how he constructs.

firing

Nääs last week. So much wood anemones, my friend K. said nature has the colour of spinach in white sauce.

We visited the hard working HDK students who wood fired. There is a kiln park for different kinds of wood firings, run by the ceramic department at HDK. Students were supervised by ceramic artists Helena Andersson and José Antonio Sarmiento. Nice to meet them!

They gave me this interesting address: Alfar Galeria Azul, art and ceramic blog (in Spanish, photos we can understand well). Invitation to anagama-noborigama wood firing event this summer in Spain here.

Wood firings more close by, in Denmark: Gudagergaard Ceramic Center

I had a long and lovely weekend, will post photos from the grand opening of the new house for Nääs konsthantverk tomorrow. Hope you had sunny days too!

PS. Konstepidemin colleague Karin Östberg opened her show at Gallery Terra Delft, Netherlands, yesterday. Wish you success, Karin!
