Ditte Johansson made a glass piece at the retirement home where my rabbits are. She created sunbeams from the roof top window and all the way to the basement, with glass that spreads light and colour in the staircase.

A short break in an area new to me, a trip around Tranemo two hours busride from Göteborg, visiting friends. Glasets Hus in Limmared was first stop. Charming glass museum, combined with nice café and waiting area for bus and trains, so clever. Limmared is also the place where the bottles for Absolut Vodka are made, with other glass containers.

fredrika linder at the furniture fair

Fredrika's glass walls are magical objects. Don't ask me how they are made, but the glass bubbles are hand blown and they shift in colours with some mystical lighting. See more of Fredrika's glass here.

Two little birds opened a combined café and craft gallery at the very best street Andra Långgatan no 5. First out in the gallery is Karin Esbjörnsson, ceramic. Organic coffee and up and coming craft artists, what a good combination.

Co exhibitor Irina My Lindqvist, glass artist and designer, showed unique glass sculptures, trophies made in the exclusive graal technique. She combines this traditional technique with a new expression of her own, much more to be seen at Irina's web page.

Peaceful Sunday morning, we are snowed in here. The world is all white and soft again.

Tina showed pieces of a commission, a mix of hand tufted textile and sand casted illuminated shapes. It's inspired by the coral reefs, and originally created as a commission for a hospital in Uddevalla. More photos from the big colorful piece to be seen at Tina's web page.

Konstepidemin's gallery is at a totally different fair; Supermarket Art Fair, 60 artist run galleries and such at Kulturhuset Stockholm. Seems a lot of fun.

Ditte Johansson knits glass fiber. After being fired the objects are glassy, half transparent and very beautiful. And fragile as life itself. More photos here.

konstrunda highlight 1: lotta söder

Lotta Söder paints and screenprints the glass before cutting it to mosaic. I saw her studio filled with color at Konstrundan in Majorna on Saturday, it was beautiful. I envy all the colors in glass.

When I visited her studio the other week I ran out of camera batteries, felt so stupid. But this is much better, to see her work in the context it should be seen.

Things happen when someone else arrange things, like when someone placed the glass apples of Gunilla Kihlgren and Rolf Svartström in my bowl, in the shop at Nääs. I almost didn't recognize it, looked like a beautiful painting. Nice surprise.

I'm busy doing my income declaration, didn't make it time, as usual. Have two more weeks, starting fresh with a new book keeping program installed, all papers sorted, mood good.

Anna Eggert

Made a very relaxed Konstrunda on Saturday. Sorry for this poor photo report, ran out of camera batteries. They recharged enough to take one photo every half hour, so there is not much to choose from. Wanted to show more from glass and fiber artist Anna Eggert's studio than only the one above, she promised to send me some instead.

Didn't leave Klippan, an area by the river mouth where the buildings used to house a sugar plant and a famous brewery, Carnegie porter. Nowadays all kinds of small manufacturers rent spaces, and many artists studios, here. Here is also Röda Sten contemporary art center where the School of Photography graduate exhibition opened.

Now seems more a time for touring local artlife than web sites and blogs. Must be a combination of approaching summer and season finale for galleries, graduations from schools and such. Haven't been through the whole year cycle of blogging yet, only guessing.

Usually I don't mention my office job at the Swedish craft organisation KHVC, not to confuse things. Here I just want to be me and only represent myself. But the KHVC exhibition at Stockholm Furniture Fair is too good not to share. The fair opened today, my office colleagues in Stockholm are prepared.

pieces of mycelia puzzle

Mycelia is the final theme of the exhibition, hand built shapes of growth that doesn't directly imitate true nature. But maybe how it would have looked in different circumstances!



It started as an installation in 2000, panorama photo by Anders Jirås here. Since, I've added and rearranged into still lives under the same name, Mycelia (from the way mushrooms spread).

Kristin Rapp works at Galleri KHVC and creates the gallery web pages. Instead of looking at my show in bits and pieces at the blog, you can look here at what she put together. I like her photos that shows the gallery space well.

She makes jazzy, sand blast glass commissions and sculptures.

Time to stop, soon the football game Sweden - North Ireland begins, and maybe Sweden will qualify for the European Championships next summer. It will be an exciting evening in the TV sofa!
