concrete work in progress

Work in too slow progress, the pieces for the KHVC stand at Stockholm Furniture Fair is taking shape; to sit on or to look at. These are photos from the last two weeks. Now I've reached the phase of the process when you look at your work and wonder "Who is doing this?".

A ceramic seat for the shape.

I form an inner shape of frigolite. A layer of fibre concrete on top of a metal net that keeps the concrete in place and makes the shape much stronger. The toothpicks measure how thick the concrete should be put on.

A primer is put on before fixing the mosaic.

The slabs of mosaic is loosely taped together and put where I've measured them to be. I leave spaces inbetween the slabs where I fit in the final mosaic pieces. The first black shape is almost finished but on the larger white there is still a lot of work left to be done. Fun but frantic work these days.

My work still looks mostly concrete gray, here is some color
Lina Peterson, jewellery artist, about color pink

Kul att se processen. Vilket jobb! Men det ser det ut att vara värt. Härliga former o snyggt med svart, grått o rött.

spännande att se processen. Blir det tungt?

Thanks for encouraging words! I hope I get to see them finished too:)

Ja, det blir tungt, tillsammans väger de ca 100 kg cement och kanske 30 kg mosaik och fix, jag ska räkna ut.
