the state of things

Moving back and forth in time...

When I was in Stockholm: spent a Sunday in there this summer, a stopover between trains. Didn't do much more than see all three exhibitions at Kulturhuset, the major focus this summer is on craft and applied arts in "The State of Things". A display on what's up right now, and some voices from the last 20 years. So many craft artists with so many different expressions and reflections all over the house, impressive! "Don’t say anything, I think I understand" was the one where I felt most connected, curated by Göteborg based Love Jönsson.

The exhibitions are open until September 13 and there is a side program, workshops, artist talks and discussions.

if i was in stockholm

Started to sort photos from spring and onwards, so many. Röhss museum showed a huge collection of small and big things used to squeeze lemons this summer. I was impressed!

If I was in Stockholm I would go and see the figurine group show at blås & knåda.

late summer - new beginnings

All students start school now, for some it's the very first day at a new school. I hope they will like it, be kind to each other and learn a lot.
I'm still struggling getting started with things after summer, only office work in sight for quite a long time. Started sorting all summer photos, you'll see.

cumbrian blues in Lidköping

Rörstrand Museum photos

English ceramic artist Paul Scott artistically researches prints on ceramics, he will open a show at Rörstrand Museum next Saturday. But before that, on Thursday, he will give a lecture and I hope you don't miss it if you are nearby. Nobody knows as much as Paul about ceramics and prints.
I must wait to see it until later, such a pity.

morning in the park

Early, early silent morning in the park last week, Trädgårdsföreningen, wish I could spend every morning there. This week people around me are getting into their work mood, while I work hard to stay in the relaxed holiday mood. This summer I was lazy, well earned.

On Saturday August 22 Mona Wallström opens a show at Konsthantverkarna, Stockholm: Plywood Palace.

about time, really!

Long summer blog break is over! I hope your summers were just as you wished them to be.

I try to stay in the holiday mood, but have had a lot to do preparing for UPMARKET. It's the annual craft fair organized by KHVC here in Göteborg. A new place in the lovely park Trädgårdsföreningen.

Thousands and thousands of visitors came, shortest stayed the quick ladies marching to support breast cancer research (but I think some of them came back next day).

It's nice to be back here, slowly!
